Alpendorf, Austria, January 2015

ALPENDORF January 2015

This years trip will run from Saturday 3rd January until Saturday 10th January (arriving and leaving on those dates). Please note it is possible to arrive/leave earlier/later etc since you book your own accommodation, but can you fill in the spreadsheet (see link below) with your exact dates and your requirements. Normally lessons start on Sunday 4th January.

It is a "self drive" trip and the distance is 630kms (all Autobahn except the last 2 kms). You are responsible for booking your own accommodation. The reason is that it is mainly families going on the trip, (but everybody is welcome) and different families have different needs. Some want 5* luxury Hotel with Wellness, some want just a Pension, some want just a room or apartment with self catering, others want with Halbpension etc etc etc. All available accommodation can be found under "Unterkünfte" at www.alpendorf.at. If anybody has major problems, give me a call and I will do what I can to help.

There were 3 new lifts last year....So whats new for this year?... I have heard that they have lots more snow canons along the pistes. They can make their own snow on 90% of the slopes providing the weather remains cold enough (below 0) for 5 days. This is due to a new lake that they built at the top of Alpendorf over the summer :-).

There is no deposit to be paid for the trip, all I need is the money for the lift passes and ski school (if participating) about 1 month beforehand.

Please fill in the spreadsheet......many thanks :-)

Ski Lessons

The cost of 6 days ski lessons (4 hours a day from 10:00 - 15:00) is 126 Euros. There is usually  a 40 Euros subsidy from the ski club towards internal adult ski club members lessons, which brings the price down to 86 Euros for 24 hours worth of lessons (pretty good value !!!!). If you are an internal member and you're not having ski lessons for yourself, then you can transfer your subsidy entitlement to one of your children.

Ski Passes

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PRICES BELOW DO NOT INCLUDE THE GROUP DISCOUNT....SO THE END RESULT WILL BE THAT THE LIFT PASS IS CHEAPER THAN BELOW BY ABOUT 7%....PROVIDING MORE THAN 20 PEOPLE BOOK THEIR SKI PASSES THROUGH ME.

6 day adult ski pass costs 237 Euros;
for a child that was born from 1996 to 1998 the pass costs 178.50 Euros;
for a child born from 1999 to 2008 it is 120 Euros and;
for a child born from 2009 onwards, no lift pass is required as long as accompanied by an adult or ski instructor.
Included in the price is a 3 Euros deposit for the Electronic Lift Pass which is refunded when you return it at the end of the trip.

For those who want to go on the trip, please inform me so that I have an idea of numbers.
