Ski area
Chamonix Mont-Blanc and the Compagne du Mont-Blanc offer an unrivalled experience for skiers and snow boarders of all levels: sunny slopes, high altitude skiing in the major ski areas, off piste areas for experienced skiers, boarders and tourers and slopes nearer the valley floor suitable for beginners. In total there are 69 pistes totalling 108 km , these include: 10 black pistes, 20 red, 28 blue and 8 green, and 2 areas for new snow sports. Chamonix Mont Blanc has something for all winter sports lovers from 3300m down to 1035m.
Accomodation
We will be staying at the Hotel Aiguille du Midi*** which is located 3 Kms from the centre of Chamonix in the village of Les Bossons. From the hotel there are breathtaking views of the Mont-Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi and the Seracs of the Bosson Glacier. The hotel has a cosy atmosphere and has a tradition going back a 100 years and is now run by the 5th generation of the same family who certainly know how to make their guests feel welcome. To help you relax, after a hard day on the slopes, it offers a sauna and a jacuzzi to ease those aching muscles. In the evening we will be served a fantastic gourmet 4 course evening meal in the hotel's Logis de France rated restaurant and on Saturday evening the much acclaimed Crepe Suzette Chef will cook for you until you burst !
Transport
The bus will leave EUMETSAT at 15:45 and from ESOC at 16:00 on Thursday the 17th March 2016. We will arrive in Chamonix late on Thursday night. On Friday and Saturday the EIS bus will take us to and bring us back from the slopes, the drop off /pick-up points are the Flégère and the Grands Montets (Argentière) lifts. On Sunday we make our own way to the slopes in the morning but will be collected at 14.30 from the slopes and brought back to the hotel. We will then leave the hotel around 16:00 arriving back in Darmstadt late on Sunday night.

Ski Hire & Ski School
There are ski hire shops at the bottom of both the Flégère and the Grands Montets ( Argentière) lifts, where you will be dropped off in the moring. Hiring your equipment at these two locations will make it easier for you to return it at the end of the trip.
