Alpendorf, Austria, January 2014

ALPENDORF January 2014

This years trip will run from Saturday 4th January until Saturday 11th January (arriving and leaving on those dates).

It is a "self drive" trip and the distance is 630kms (all Autobahn except the last 2 kms). You are responsible for booking your own accommodation. The reason is that it is mainly families going on the trip, (but everybody is welcome) and different families have different needs. Some want 5* luxury Hotel with Wellness, some want just a Pension, some want just a room or apartment with self catering, others want with Halbpension etc etc etc. All available accommodation can be found under "Unterkünfte" at www.alpendorf.at. If anybody has major problems, give me a call and I will do what I can to help.

Apparently there are 3 new lifts :-)

There is no deposit to be paid for the trip, all I need is the money for the lift passes and ski school (if participating) about 1 month beforehand.

Ski Lessons

The cost of 6 days ski lessons (4 hours a day) is 122 Euros. There is usually  a 40 Euros subsidy from the ski club towards internal adult ski club members lessons, which brings the price down to 82 Euros for 24 hours worth of lessons (pretty good value !!!!). If you are an internal member and you're not having ski lessons for yourself, then you can transfer your subsidy entitlement to one of your children.

Ski Passes

6 day adult ski pass costs 230 Euros;
for a child that was born from 1995 to 1997 the pass costs 173 Euros;
for a child born from 1998 to 2007 it is 116.50 Euros and;
for a child born from 2008 onwards, no lift pass is required as long as accompanied by an adult or ski instructor.
Included in the price is a 3 Euros deposit for the Electronic Lift Pass which is refunded when you return it at the end of the trip.

For those who want to go on the trip, please inform me so that I have an idea of numbers.
